Sweet Child O' Mine

Rick is home this week and I am taking full advantage and getting some scrapping done! I have gotten 2 layouts done in the last two days!

The first I did just to get back into it. It is the page I have been thinking about doing for a while. I wasn't sure what to do at first, but then I started pulling out the scrolls and it came together. I used my new "Storybook" cartridge and my Cricut for the corners on the invitation. I wanted to stamp some scrolls, but wanted to soften them, so I stamped them with watermark ink and then took a tissue and rubbed red chalk over the stamped image while it was still wet. I LOVE how it turned out!

The second layout I did for the Scrap That Tune challenge at Challenge Masters. The challenge was to use a line from the Guns n' Roses song "Sweet Child O' Mine". I decided to use these pictures of Addy sleeping. I added interest to the title by using different letters for each word.

Thanks for stopping by!

Calendar #3

Here is the calendar I made for my in-laws. This one is 8x8 in size.

Project 365 Week 19

With Christmas and all of its festivities I had lots to take pictures of this week. This is just a small sampling of the photos I took this week!

12/20 "Addy, where are your ears?"

12/21 Ellie brushing her teeth before bed

12/22 All 3 kids sitting in the snow. This was the first time we have gotten outside to enjoy the surplus of white stuff that has been dumped on us in the last month. The girls had fun sliding down the hill in their sled and Will had fun watching.

12/23 This is the treat we set out for Santa. The note was Ellie's idea. :)

12/24 The girls received a doctor kit for Christmas. Here is Addy checking Rick's ears

12/25 Will even had fun opening gifts. It was a different experience having an older baby on Christmas as both of the girls were very young their first Christmases. It was a lot of fun to see Will grab at his gifts.

12/26 Rick and Ellie watching Russ set up a game.

The Calendars Are Complete!

I made 3 calendars as gifts this year; one for my parents, one for my in-laws and one for my sister and brother-in-law. The calendars for my parents and my sister and brother-in-law are very similar so I photographed them together. Here they are:

Stay tuned, I will upload the final calendar and some cards that I made very soon...

Some Card Challenges

All of my scrappy gifts are completed (Yay!) and I will be scrapping for myself again soon. Here are a couple of cards I made using some challenges.

I used this sketch at "Sketches in Thyme" to make a masculine card.

Here is my card.

This one I did for the Ad/Art challenge at Challenge Masters. The challenge was to use this piece of art:

I was inspired by the silhouette style of the art, the retro feel of the image and the torn edges. I used my Cricut to cut out the car and the sentiment.

Project 365 Week 18

More snow, ANOTHER birthday celebration for Ellie and time spent at home. I also just bought Photoshop Elements 9, so I played a biyt with a few of these photos (mostly with color and lighting).

12/13 Addy busy drawing a picture

12/14 Ellie and Addy before Ellie's first dance performance

12/15 Ellie feeding Will some pears. She loves to feed him and she does a good job!

12/16 More snow, it was falling like that for a good part of the morning.

12/17 Ellie playing with the "horse" at Grandma and Grandpa's house. (She was afraid of it for the longest time!)

12/18 "Dress Like Your Favorite Christmas Carol" party, I was part of "We 3 Kings", my counterparts are the ones in the yellow foam crowns.

Project 365 Week 17

This week's pictures feature Will performing several of his new "tricks". Throw in a snow storm and a birthday party and we have an interesting week!

12/6 Will sitting- he started doing this a few weeks ago and I was so shocked- he's only 5 months old!

12/7 And the stockings were hung by the chimney with care...

12/8 Will holding his bottle- this is one of my favorite skills, so helpful with 3 small children!

12/9 Will helping Rick find the right piece

12/10 Will with his cereal bowl after his first "solid food" experience. He actually did pretty well!

12/11 We were hit by a HUGE snowstorm on Saturday. We got about 18 inches of snow. Here is the kids' playhouse in the backyard. The snow was coming down like that all day!

12/12 Ellie with her birthday cake.
